Lian Perez
Lian Perez is a photographer and educator currently based in Kansas City. Originally from Miami, Florida, she draws from her Cuban background and multicultural upbringing to inform her visual storytelling and artistic perspective.
She received her Master of Fine Arts in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia in 2025, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Miami in 2018. Her work explores portraiture, identity, and cultural narrative through both digital and analog processes, including film and large format photography.
Lian has experience in teaching and mentorship through her work at SCAD, where she supported undergraduate instruction and delivered guest lectures in studio and conceptual practices. Her work has been featured in Miami Vibes Magazine and exhibited in academic spaces, including her MFA thesis exhibition, La Luz Que Me Guia.
Through her practice, she aims to create images that are both visually compelling and deeply connected to personal and cultural experience.
