About Me

My journey with photography started off as more of an accident, than a passion. Rummaging through my grandmothers room, I happened to stumble across a Sony Cybershot Digital Camera. It wasn’t extraordinary by any means, truthfully at that time it was already rather antiquated. It’s age didn’t matter, neither did it’s rather beaten physical condition. The only thing I saw was a window, an opening to a new world of light, dark, shadows, and shapes that lived around me but that I’d never seen before. It was love at first click, everything I came across became a subject of my art. Flowers in the backyard, reflections in puddles, my family members, and even myself. Something inside of me sprung to life, and suddenly the curious 13 year old girl rooting about her grandmothers room was loaded with inspiration. I dreamed of capturing the world, of showcasing it through my lens, and framing it for all to see.

It wasn’t long before a simple backyard hobby blossomed into a lifelong passion. With my first DSLR came the courage to shoot it all, I knew no bounds. My education followed my heart, I devoted myself to photography at the Academy of Arts and Minds, a magnet school for the arts. When I graduated, I coupled my journey into higher education with my growing obsession. I pushed myself to learn as much as possible, studying film in both black and white, and color.

I still have a lot to learn, in truth I know I’ll always be a student of the lens, and that inspires me to push forward every day. As I engage in any and every activity surrounding my life, from kayaking, nature walks, fishing to simply sitting outside rest assured that a camera is always by my side.
